Blizzard of '03

It's 6:!5 am. An hour ago there was no snow falling but reports of white out conditions and a very slow to move storm n the midatlantic reaching NYC. An email report in came in from the D.C. area about SO MUCH Snow, which I had thought was about past storms until I flipped on the news! The snow has started here in Windsor CT, a light gentle, harmless snow. I have been up for an hour though, have taken to preliminary shots of the yucca plant and bistro at the side of the driveway to remind us tonight that the roads were clear today!!

Im off to the office to get work. And do as much as possible by noon. HAve a safe day, New Englanders. Mainers, batten down the hatches! (Wishing we had insurance on the camp right now...)

I started reading a great travel journey today. The author discusses Shintoism and ative American and the Vikings - similarities between the 3 - how they all revere nature and ancestors and the believe that lack of reverence for nature and anscestors is what causes evil in the world. Thanks to The Strand in the village of NYC, where I came across the story by M. Aaland. Hope to post more details soon.

Just as December's snows were melting down to the grass we got 8 inches of beautifulsnow set upon us covering roads, trees, yards. The air was still and everything around was beautiful yet silent except for the birds chirping!

Yet, there is a murmor of war in the distance and I fear this is the quiet before the storm. Let it not be so.
