Wildlife Gardens: Shelters from Winter weather
eGarden for your heart:
Yesterday I visited the wildlife garden at Tower Hill Botanical Gardens in Boylston Mass outside Worcester. The walk through the pine floor was medatative and smelled like rainy days at camp.
Today, watching the squirrels bare the cold rain and get their fill of seeds, I started dreaming up a platform or bench, simple to construct from fallen pine bows or boards from Home Depot or Loew's Home Improvement stores...
The birds could use more shelter at the site of the food. The feeders I currently have do nothing but entice them into inclement weather away from their protection of the trees and brush.
