Develop your Qi as much as possible and be truthful about what you can and can not do. (UL)
Verify and test the reality of your practices. Make sure your not just waving your arms in the breeze and if you practice healing, keep accurate statistics to verify your effectiveness. Experiment and investigate new aspects of your Qigong. (UR)
Join a group and work toward mutual understanding. What is an appropriate Qigong practice in America? What are fair ethical standards? (LL)
As a group, help create tangible results in the world, such as an out-reach program, solid promotional pieces, yearly get-togethers, a newsletter etc. (LR) "

Recent News Briefs (3rd Quarter 2003)

This would be exciting if this was BDK... Recent News Briefs (3rd Quarter 2003): "Brian Paulson, S.J., president of Ignatius Prep, wrote, “We live in a country where large currents of both the Democratic and the Republican Party, including our President, accept Roe v. Wade as settled constitutional law.” This statement seems to provide him with justification for ignoring a candidate’s pro-abortion position when “making an all-things-considered decision about which politician to support who would do the most for the common good in office.” Paulson is wrong for two reasons. First, President Bush does not accept Roe v. Wade as settled constitutional law. Why would he keep nominating judicial candidates who disagree with that decision if he accepted it? Second, Paulson totally ignores the strong statements made by both Pope John Paul II and the U.S. bishops about the high importance to be given to life issues such as abortion when assessing political candidates"

Militant Secularists

???

Militant Secularists: "Several local Catholic groups are accusing Hynes of hypocrisy, crass exploitation of Catholicism, and outright deception. Jim Finnegan of Vote Life America said, 'These pro-abortion politicians use their affiliations with Catholic schools as if they were somehow in line with the Church because of those affiliations. Catholic voters see an Irish name from Notre Dame or St. Ignatius, and they don’t look into it any further. That’s just got to stop.'

Mary Louise Kurey, director of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Respect Life office and also a protester, said that Chicago’s Francis Cardinal George called St. Ignatius’ president, Fr. Brian Paulson, S.J., on Tuesday, September 30. Kurey declined to reveal the contents of that conversation, but said that the cardinal had 'serious concerns' about the Hynes fund-raiser and St. Ignatius’ involvement. Kurey also said a more complete response by the archdiocese was forthcoming, but was unable to provide any other details.

Evidence of the cardinal’s call was apparent by late September 30 afternoon when a new political endorsement policy appeared on the SICP web site: 'It is the policy of St. Ignatius College Prep not to endorse, support, or sponsor any political candidate or party.'"

Georgetown University | Fact Sheets

Tao of Understanding

Today's Fortune

The Tao doesn't take sides;
it gives birth to both wins and losses.
The Guru doesn't take sides;
she welcomes both hackers and lusers.

The Tao is like a stack:
the data changes but not the structure.
the more you use it, the deeper it becomes;
the more you talk of it, the less you understand.

Hold on to the root.
