Just Kate. I had forgotten how much I love this time of year. I thought I would be a bit sad once all the leaves had fallen. But frankly, this being my first fall in this colonial 1875 home, I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the giant maple that normally shades the entire back yard all but a border is now barren. So aside from it's massive hundred year old trunk, it is letting the light through. I discovered this when first I realized the birdfeeders were getting light earlier. This means Ill get to see more birds before going to work!

But the pleasant surprise was in the kitchen. For the record I am always fond of and in need of as much natural light as possible. Nothing new, see Northern Expsoure with the visors episode. Light,as with summer, brings natural joy to one's heart and helps people from getting down about the little stuff! So I was making my coffee this morning and I realized a nice warm glow was on me, the pot of freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee, and even light on my face! Bliss!

Pure bliss.

Not bad for being groggy!
