Tonight I watched and heard the magnificent Jonathan Hannau, a junior at Simsbury High School, keep pace with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Wow.

Hartford Symphony - Connecticut's OrchestraSM: "The Hartford Symphony Orchestra performs side by side with the Simsbury High School band, string orchestra, and chorus, along with student soloists and the town-wide elementary chorus.

Former Music Director Michael Lankester (1985-2000) will conduct his first appearance with the HSO since he stepped down seven years ago.

Program to include:

Vivaldi - 'Gloria'
Beethoven - 'Allegretto' from Symphony No. 7
Grainger - 'Country Tune' from County Derry and Shepherd’s Hey
Handel - Hallelujah Chorus

May 2 - OPENING DAY - Enjoy a special tour of the museum. See recent acquisitions and visit our freshly redecorated and stocked museum shop

May 6 & June 3 – Living History Program with the Marshall Children - Experience 18th century daily life with our costumed docents and junior docents as they perform tasks of the Marshall Family in the 1770s.

June 9 – Connecticut Open House Day - Connecticut Residents are invited to tour the museum at a reduced rate and all are invited to join us for lemonade and cookies in the garden.

July – 8 – Connecticut Historic Gardens Day - 11 of Connecticut’s historic gardens will be open all across the state. Garden docents will be available.
